Acrylonitrile import plunges in Feb

According to the Customs Statistics of China, the import of Acrylonitrile in February 2008, reached nearly 16,196 tons observing a decrease of 53.42 percent from January and 50.16 percent from the same period last year.
The import price in February averaged around US $1,841 per ton, a rise of $7 from the previous month, boosting approximately 21.15 percent from the same period of 2007.
Total imports of Acrylonitrile in first two months of 2008, registered a decline of 19.08 percent by reaching only 50,976 tons, from the same period last year.
The average import price was $1,845 per ton, up by 21.56 percent when compared to January-February 2007.
