Price trend for yarn market in March

In the month of March, market trend for yarn showed differentiation. Part products of cotton and polyester yarn edged up slightly due to price increase in some raw materials.
During the beginning of March, international cotton prices rose sharply. As Cotlook A (NE) Price jumped to 91 cents per lb on March 5, China's domestic cotton grade 328 also rose to 13,819 yuan per ton on the same time. Price increase in raw materials promoted gains of domestic cotton yarn market.
On March 11, several joint trader associsations from domestic cotton textile factories in light industry and textile markets raised cotton yarn prices. Carded yarns under 40s rose by 200-300 yuan per ton, high count carded and combed yarns increased by 400-700 yuan per ton, the higher yarn count the greater the price increase.
Similarly when international price of crude oil broke through US $110 per barrel, related products also saw a rise in prices. PSF enterprises have the intentions to hike the prices, however, the market remained temporarily stable due to sales pressure. Transaction price of mainstream item 1.4 D PSF was offered at 11550-11600 yuan per ton for cash payment and to be delivered to buyer.
Supported by polyester staple fiber market, pure polyester yarn market was temporarily stable, some products gave signs of adopting an upward trend. The price of polyester yarn 50s moved up from 16,300 yuan per ton at the end of February to 16,500 yuan per ton, 32s rose from 14,600 yuan / ton to 14,800 yuan / ton, pure polyester yarn (small chemical fiber) 32s grew from 12,000 yuan / ton to 12,200 yuan / ton. But market turnover was still at a relatively low level with high inventories from enterprises.
