A Textile Radiator to replace your curtains!

Some of the latest and most significant Swedish Master Degree works and research within textiles and space will be presented at Salone Satellite, furniture Fair in Milan 2008. Behind it all you'll find students from THS and HDK, Design schools of Sweden.

Five design students from two different Swedish schools join forces to present their work within a context called 'Textile & Space'.

By showing the two dimensional textiles and three dimensional furniture designs together, the two professions are highlighted. The works will be shown 16-21 April at pavilion 28, Salone Satellite, Furniture Fair in Milan.

Elin Larsson explores the combination of different textile techniques; printing, knitting, pleating and heat shaping, in order to create three dimensional screening surfaces.

Delia Dumitrescu's project Knitted light investigates the emotional and functional potential of the combination of light and textiles in order to raise the user's interaction with the built environment.

Lena Berglin will present Textile Radiator, a textile heating concept for interior use that offers an alternative to the conventional radiators. This can be used as a curtain or room divider or integrated in other textiles for example a carpet or furniture.

Fredrik Färg's products show how construction can be playful and how beautiful the world can seem when slightly tilted. Even basic rules and laws of nature, can become visible when challenged. A familiar object on an unexpected scale, or a steady object of unsteady material, can, hopefully, open our eyes.
