Cosmetic Science Conference to take place in Amsterdam

Apr '08
Cosmetic Science Conference 2008 exhibition is scheduled to be held on 16 - 17 April.

Organized by SOFW Journal and aimed at bench chemists and product formulators, the CSC will provide invaluable scientific information with practical suggestions and knowledge for the challenges ahead in cosmetic product development!

The growth rate for natural cosmetics in 2008 remains in double digits worldwide. This is attributed to the increase in the use of natural ingredients in cosmetics and the growing popularity of the ecological aspects of this trend, such as fair trade and growing and sustaining natural resources.

Despite this increasing awareness, the issue of what can be considered 'natural-E is still disputed. Several organisations give certificates to natural ingredients, but there are no agreed uniform standards.

What are the regulatory status in different countries? Which natural cosmetic actives meet with which claims? And what does Bio availability of cosmetic actives mean? Renowned international speakers from institutes and universities, as well as ingredient specialists will present their answers during this first session.

Skin and the ageing of skin is certainly the one of the main focuses of cosmetic science. Healthy and young looking skin is the ultimate goal of all users of skin care products.

It is not surprising therefore, that in the field of skin physiology cosmetic producers and universities alike spend a great amount of their budgets on R&D.
