Apr '08
Market prices of PTA, MEG demonstrated a temporary stability on this Monday, April 14. Where as, semi-dull and bright polyester chips and CDP chips slightly fell. PET bottle slice price stayed in consolidation.

Prices of acrylic staple 1.5 D × 38mm, acrylic top 3 D × 102mm moved sideways. CPL, nylon 6 slice prices were stable. Trading volume of polyester filament remained inadequate, prices appeared fall further.

Currently, fabrics and materials inventories from downstream mills are relatively high; plain fabrics remain at high level, coupled with further downward momentum in upstream raw materials; spinning plants show some phenomenon of sales promotion at low-cost. As a result, overall market outlook of polyester filament will continue its downward trend, and thus, short-term market situation is not optimistic.

Overall cotton yarn market was stable. Pure polyester yarn market indicated a weak adjustment, individual products of rayon yarns moved in weak trend. The market of polyester and viscose yarn, polyester and cotton blended yarn show little change, market turnover remained very small. Experts judge that the current trading situation may lead the market to extend its consolidation trend.
