According to Customs data, exports of rayon fabrics in China reached nearly 70.43 million meters in the month of March this year, up by 47.11 percent when compared to February and 42.84 percent from the same time of 2007.
As there is an increase in export volume, March export value also saw a substantial growth of 58.49 percent from the previous month, registering a surge of 111.67 percent from the same period last year.
The average export price of various rayon fabrics last month was around US $1.03 per meter, a growth of 7.74 percent from the previous month, and 48.19 percent higher from the export price in March 2007.
From January to March 2008, total exports of all types of rayon fabrics touched 193.622 million meters, a year-on-year increase of 1.10 percent over the volume of 191.5121 meters exported during the same period of last year.
The increase in export volume directly reflected the growth of export value, in first three months rayon fabric export value of China amounted to $191.09 million, a rise of $46.67 million or 32.32 percent when compared with January to March of 2007.
The growth in export value was slightly higher than the increase in export volume. Average price of rayon fabric exports in Q1 marked $0.98 per meter, showcasing a boost of 31.43 percent over the price of $0.75 per meter for the same time last year.
