Ethylene prices for Asian & Far Eastern regions shoot up

The present moment can be considered as the golden period for the ethylene industry of China, as the demand for the same in the market is growing day by day.
Provinces of Jiangsu, Beijing, Shangdong, Jilin and Guangdong are considered as the largest producers of ethylene. Chinese Government plans to double its ethylene production capacity to reach over 18 million tons by the year 2010.
On April 29, Ethylene prices for major importing regions showed a mixed trend. Prices for Asian and Far Eastern regions skyrocketed compared to prior week.
Ethylene prices in Asia region:
Ethylene, CFR Northeast Asia, at US $1400-1410 per metric ton. Ethylene, CFR Southeast Asia, at US $1330-1340 per metric ton.
Ethylene prices in Far East region:
Ethylene, FOB Korea, at US $1410 per metric ton. Ethylene, FOB Japan, at US $1410 per metric ton.
