FWTT - fashion fiesta flaunting far-famed & wannabe designers

The first annual Fashion Week Trinidad & Tobago (FWTT) is scheduled to get started from May 26-31, 2008 in Adam Smith Square. Some of the prominent personalities of the fashion world will grace the event with their presence.

Besides, the event will showcase the creations of top local and Carribean designers.

To be led by the Radical Design developer, Dianne Hunt, this fashion extravaganza will be partly sponsored by the Tourism Development Company Limited of Trinidad & Tobago.

The presumably spectacular event aims at highlighting the fashion industry of the country by means of bringing existing and aspiring talent in the 'lime light'.

Programs at the event will be themed on 'Premier Vision', 'Conscious Fashion', 'Fresh' and 'Caribbean Allies' under which designers from Antigua, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts, St Lucia and St Vincent will present their collections.

Exquisite product line from renowned Caribbean designers like Sonia Mack, Peter Elias, Meiling, Claudia Pegus, Heather Jones and Francis Hendy will also be displayed at the event together with art displays and a showcase of past prize-winning carnival costumes.

It is hoped that this fashion foray will attract buyers and fashion media from around the world giving the industry its due gleam, glamour and grandeur.
