Ritz Textiles all set to broaden its horizons

Ritz Textiles Limited, one of the renowned home textile manufacturer of Bangladesh is planning to double its production capacity this year. The Company is taking this step in order to meet the increasing export orders that it is receiving from various countries across globe.
Presently, Ritz's total investment is approximately Tk15 crore and it produces almost 1 lakh meters of home furnishing per month. The wide range of products include bedspreads, blankets, pillows and pillow covers, cushion and cushion covers, carpets, wall hangings, tablecloth and kitchen linen.
Salim, Marketing Director, Ritz Textile, informed Fibre2fashion that, the total capital required for expansion is nearly Tk7 crore to set up 58 new textile machines. The unit will mainly manufacture home textiles which includes production of 100% cotton 50/50 PC, 70/30 TC Range of weaving 36 to 110 Pic, with width 65 to 130 inches. Solid or multi colour printing will be done for making the products more durable.
The textile unit exported home furnishings worth almost US $7,00,000 in 2006-07 fiscal, and in the span of one year the company is set to export home textile of more than $1.5 million in foreign markets.
The major overseas customers of Ritz are IKEA of Sweden and Little Wood and Maurice Phillips of UK.
The domestic home textile of Bangladesh is growing almost 20 percent every year. Total export of the nation reached nearly $211.25 million in the first ten months of this fiscal, against $192.85 million export earnings of same period a year ago.
This year, the Export Promotion Bureau has set a target of around $310 million for home furnishing sector. Noman Group, Alltex, ACS Textile, Sad Musa, Regent and Classical Home are some of the major manufacturers and exporters of home textile in Bangladesh.
