Ahmedabad based Pradip Overseas Limited, manufacturer and exporter of home textiles has new expansion plans on its priority list. The company has plans to invest Rs500 million for its upcoming home-linen brand whose first store will come up in Mumbai displaying bed linens, comforters, curtains, cushions, towels and a host of other products.
The company also has plans to open at least 20 outlets across the country by 2009. However, Mr Kamal Garg Executive Director Marketing of Pradip Overseas, told Fibre2fashion, “The new brand for home textiles will be made available at various stores in the city including Neptune House, Arrow Drape, Sanskruti and Drape House by June 8.”
Mr Garg also affirmed its plan of developing its new special economic zone (SEZ) near Bagodara saying, “It will help the company expand its current processing plant capacity of 2 lakh meter per day. An investment Rs2500 million will be made for the project while an additional Rs4000 million will be poured in at the later stages of the SEZ development.”
Nearly 30 acres of land for the project has already been acquired for the initial stage which will later be added with 40 acres. Another 30-40 acres will be purchased for future expansion.
This apart the company is also reviewing its plan to enter into a joint venture with US based textile company - Lucy B Linen at an investment of Rs2000 to 3000 million.
