Workshop on Supply Chain Management in Nairobi

A four-day capacity building workshop on Supply Chain Management in Nairobi, Kenya, from 24-27 June 2008.

The workshop will provide participants with both a theoretical and practical understanding of the key concepts of Supply Chain Management and how managers can incorporate this in their corporate strategy.

This course is designed to equip supply chain managers with critical knowledge on how they can create and manage successful and sustainable supply chain structures.

The course will also try to engage participants in developing supply chain management systems and link their effectiveness to the organizations RIO.

This four-day theory and practical training will among other topics cover:
- The Evolution of SCM and latest trend
- The Role of Procurement/Purchasing in SCM
- The Role of Logistics in SCM
- SCM and its impact on ROI
- TQM in Manufacturing and Service Delivery
- TQM and the Tools of Quality Control
- TQM and Benchmarking
- JIT Philosophy- applicable to every organization
- JIT and the elimination of waste along supply chains

Who should attend?:
Supply chain managers but can also be attended by various other professionals in the supply chain process.

These will include:
- Supply Chain Managers/Professional
- Logistics Managers/Professional
- Plant Managers
- Quality Control Managers
- Systems Integrators

The Faculty for the workshop will be lead by Mike Porter, who most recently was Head of the School of Business at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg (UNP), South Africa where he specialized in the fields of operations and supply chain management.
