Textile enterprises in turmoil as Edinburgh proves expensive

The overhead cost of doing business in Edinburgh is becoming unbearable for entrepreneurs and this fact is supported by the discovery that the city is the fifth most expensive one outside London in which to run a business.

This Scottish capital was listed above Bristol and Manchester with regard to its cost of conducting business. Investigation studies have shown that although the cost of living and transport remained low, it was the expense of staff and industrial rents that pushed the city among the top five in UK.

This revelation might prove problematic as soaring cost of fuel in contrast to lowering turnover may leave entrepreneurs with little profits to depend on. Besides, sustaining operation at such low proceeds may also be a matter of concern.

However, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in spheres of textile, garments, chemicals etc, are expected to do good business but this again would not spare them from generating higher costs especially if there are based in prime locations.
