“The looming recession in US market has not affected us to a large extent in direct terms”, says Prashant, “our markets are mainly in EU and the trickle down effect of the US recession in EU will affect our business to some extent.”
“For strengthening our position in 2008, we have to continue to do what we are good at. Sourcing, merchandising and giving new ideas to our clients. This is the time when we feel we should consolidate and exhibit our staying power to clients so that when the economic situation brightens, the customers will have good recall to initiate business with us”, concluded Mr Shankaran.
On the whole, although last year proved to be quite troublesome for the exporters, they anticipate the present year to be much secure.
