Formosa Taffeta reveals expansion plans

Formosa Taffeta Co Ltd , one of the biggest textiles and printing factories in Taiwan, recently announced its plans to expand its factories in China Mainland and Vietnam.
The Company has invested US $150 million to set up a facility in Vietnam. This unit is expected to start is production from October 2008.
Officials said that, this will help Formosa to bag fair share of orders which are shifting from China to Vietnam.
This unit will help boost the position of the Company in not only Vietnam but also in entire South Asia.
Authorities said that, they were trying to further strengthen relations with brands like Columbia and Puma. Such finished products will be manufactured at the Formosa units in Guangdong Province.
Meanwhile, the new printing factory in Jiangsu Province is likely to explore and cater to the domestic industry.
