Germany turned out to be the main commercial partner of Romania as of last June and superseded Italy which was so far its largest client. Trade between the two has grown considerably in the last few years and has since been on an upward trend.

Even the future looks very optimistic as investors have evinced greater interest in Romania due to the newly acquired EU accession of the latter which offers extra guarantees and brings the most amounts of benefits to Germany.

What makes Romania such an attractive investment destination is the fact that the country offers immense opportunities and assures quality in sphere like infrastructure, energy and agriculture. Presently, Germany is contemplating on various avenues of cooperation so that real potential between the two countries can be fully explored.

However, one of the emerging problems faced by the German investors is that labor force in Romania is not cheap anymore, and now they would have to pay higher wages to get quality work.

As a result, investment in the textile industry of Romania has gone down drastically and has flowed into other fields instead. Another concerning fact was that of widening trade deficit of Romania, which experts suggest can be eased by intensifying exports.
