The 3rd national conference “Texcellence'08”, which is to focus on textile and allied sector, is being organised on 3-4 October, 2008. The venue of the conference is Ahmedabad Management Association, Ahmedabad.

The conference will focus mainly on Home Textiles Industry, Agro & Medical Textiles, Automation in Textiles, Energy Efficiency and Improving Competitiveness and Modern Processing Techniques.

Among the guest speakers will be Mr Rajiv Takru, Director General, National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi who will give the keynote address and Mr. J.N.Singh, Joint Secretary, Government of India who will deliver the valedictory address.

Mr Rajiv Merchant, Chief Executive Officer, Portico (India) Ltd., Mumbai, will be giving an overview of the home textiles industry, Dr. Chandan Chatterjee, General Manager (Project & Technology), iNDEXTb, Gandhinagar will be giving a lecture on “Bottlenecks and Remedies for Growth of Agro textiles in India”, Dr. P.R. Roy, President- The Textile Association (India) and Management Consultant (Textiles), Ahmedabad will speak on “Opportunities in Technical Textiles in India”.

Mrs. Shashi Singh, Jt. Textile Commissioner, Mumbai will speak on Industrial Textiles: Opportunities Unlimited along with Dr Ramkumar Seshadari, Asst. Professor of Nonwoven & Advanced Materials Laboratory, Texas Tech University, USA, and an authority on the subject of non-wovens will address on “Value Added Nonwovens: Opportunities and Potentials”

The session on Automation in textiles will be addressed by Mr Suresh Vaidya, Past President, Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers' Association, Mumbai on “Technology Upgradation in Textile Accessories and Machinery Industry”

The objective of this conference is for exchanging ideas with captains of industry and also explore opportunities to promote products and services.
