According to the Customs statistics, in July 2008 China imported nearly 216,100 tons of cotton, showcasing a significant increase of 7000 tons from the previous month.
However, a slight decline of 12,800 tons is marked when compared to import volume of July 2007, representing a year-on-year drop of 5.59 percent.
From January to July 2008, cotton imports of the country reached around 1.456 million tons, a boost of near about 3.59 percent when compared to same time of 2007.
By July end, China contracted nearly 1.14 million tons of cotton from US, of which, around 9,69,000 tons were already reached the nation.
