Mattress Firm donates Sealy & Protect a Bed to Pi Beta Phi

Mattress Firm, one of the nation's leading specialty mattress retailers, announced the donation of 50 Sealy Posturepedic premium pillowtop mattresses and protect-a-bed mattress protectors to the Pi Beta Phi sorority at the University of South Dakota.
The newly renovated Pi Phi House reopened in August and the improvements include repairs to the roof, new windows and entry doors, a remodeled common area on the first floor, new carpets and wall coverings and new furniture throughout the house.
Now, thanks to the donation from Mattress Firm, Sealy and Protect a Bed, every Pi Phi member will also be sleeping on a brand new mattress.
“I know that it can be difficult to get enough sleep as a college student, but studies show that the right amount of sleep plays an important role in a student's academic success.
We hope these new mattresses help the current students and the students who will live in the Pi Phi house in future years get a great night's sleep,” said Karrie Forbes, Vice President of Marketing for Mattress Firm.
“As a former Pi Phi, I know firsthand the impact that the organization can have on the lives of its members and Mattress Firm is proud to offer our support.”
Houston-based Mattress Firm is America's preferred specialty mattress company and the nation's largest specialty retailer of top-of-the-line products from leading manufacturers including Simmons, Sealy, Tempur-Pedic, and Select Comfort.
The company was founded in 1986 by University of South Dakota graduates and has since grown to more than 500 stores in 38 markets.
The company has maintained close ties with its founder's alma mater, actively recruiting on campus and providing internship opportunities for students.
Over the past decade, more than 35 Pi Phi have interned or worked for Mattress Firm. In addition to Forbes, several other positions are held by former Pi Phi's including district, area and store managers, national and market trainers and recruiters, among others.
