Marie-Antoinette's court gown to be displayed at ROM

The dress was acquired in 1925 by the Museum's first director, Charles Trick Currelly from Mary Christie, a London antiques dealer. It will be on display until Sunday, October 26, 2008.

Three or four times a year, the ROM will reveal a new item from the depths of its collection.

Complimentary programming:
Each weekend, from Saturday, September 13, 2008 to Sunday, October 5, 2008, the ROM offers interpretive tours of the Daphne Cockwell Gallery of Canada: First Peoples, as well as Native beading activities, storytelling, drumming and dancing.

Each weekend, from Saturday, October 11, 2008 to Sunday, October 19, 2008, ROM visitors can make masquerade masks and fans, be photographed in period costume and view a living statue of Marie-Antoinette. The film Marie Antoinette (2003), based on an Antonia Fraser novel, will be screened on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 7 pm and on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 2:30 pm. These activities are free with ROM admission.
