Textile & garment industry flourishes in July

In the month of July, textile and garment industry of Vietnam has succeeded in increasing its export by 21.94 percent, worth US $ 932 billion, which is higher than the average growth rate of 21.79 percent, sources from General Department of Statistics informed.
Reports show a high growth rate in most of the markets, especially in countries like Japan and Taiwan. Country's export turnover has increased by 7.67 percent over June 2008. At the same time, growth rate in US and EU market sees a slowdown by 9.1 and 11.4 percent respectively.
Country fetched around $514 billion from US market with rise of 9 percent and $197 million from EU market with increase of 11.4 percent over June, depicting an increase of 15.87 and 22.9 percent respectively over July 2007.
Vietnam succeeded in earning $78 million from Japanese market with surge of 33.75 percent over June and 20.88 percent year-on-year. Whereas, Taiwan provided rise of 71 percent worth $33.4 million over June, and 179 percent year-on-year.
