Uzbekistan, which is also considered a major cotton producing and exporting country has seen stagnancy creep in its shipments. Exports which stood at 850,000 tons in 2004/05 rose to 1.02 million tons in 2005/06 saw it fall to 980,000 tons in 2006/07 and are once again foreseen to fall to 887,000 tons in 2007/08.
