Vietnam and Chile have been enjoying good trade relations for quite some time now. This becomes evident from the fact that Vietnam earned revenue worth almost US $40 million by exporting various products to Chile, from January to July this year.

The earnings show a significant rise of 25.9 percent when compared to the same time of 2007, according to the available statistics. Major products that were shipped to Chile include shirts, cotton fabric and sports shoes.

On the other hand, Vietnam spent nearly $65 million in the first seven months of 2008 to import commodities from the Latin America country, observing a year-on-year hike of 3 percent.

According to the experts, the data reflects that bilateral trade between both nations has crossed approximately $106 million mark, and shows a boost of 9.6 percent when compared to January to July of 2007.

Last year, Vietnam had earned nearly $55 million by shipping various products to Chile, and spent nearly $107 million for importing several commodities.
