Hundreds of world-renowned textile and garment suppliers from Austria, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and UK have confirmed their participation at Interstoff Asia Essential Autumn. The fair will be held from 8 – 10 October 2008 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Grand Hall.

Some of the top industry players will showcase their new and special products at the Interstoff. For example, certification body Control Union Certifications from the Netherlands will address the latest developments in the NEW Organic Exchange Blended, Organic Exchange 100 and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) requirements at the show seminar.

'It is important for retailers and manufacturers to understand the requirements of different eco-standards because customer nowadays has higher demand in eco-products and want to know how the clothes are made in an eco-friendly way. Hong Kong is one of our major markets as many buying offices and sourcing agents of big brands, and retailers are located here,' said Mr Hong Lee, Manager of Control Union Certifications, Hong Kong.

The Australian Wool Innovation will explain the role of organic wool in the ethical fashion market and different certifications of organic wool in the fair. Case studies of Australian organic wool producers will be used to demonstrate how to convert to organic production.

World-leading fibre producer Lenzing will feature fabrics nominated from its worldwide fabric competition including fabrics for eco-fibre blends, sportswear, lingerie and lounge, Warmbiz, shirts & blouse, denim and more. Visitors are also welcome to register as jury members of the competition at the Lenzing's stand.

Textiles and fibres manufacturer Toray Industries from Japan will join the fair to expand into the China and overseas markets. They will feature recycled fabrics in the booth and in the special display forum 'Eco-textiles: Fabrics that care'.

Focus on trend and market information
Visitors can also learn about trends and technical developments in their industry at the Autumn 2008 fair.
