Total export of goods up in June

The total export of goods amounted to SKK 130.4 billion and increased year-on-year 11.1 % in June. The total import of goods rose 7.6 % to SKK 131.2 billion. The foreign trade balance was passive in the amount of SKK 0.8 billion (it was lower than in June 2007 by SKK 3.8 billion).

The foreign trade balance was passive in the amount of SKK 4.1 billion in the period of January - June (it was higher than in the corresponding period last year by SKK 1.9 billion).

The highest passive balance was in foreign-trade activity with the Russian Federation (SKK 62.8 billion), the Republic of Korea (SKK 39.8 billion), China (SKK 33.4 billion), Taiwan (SKK 11.7 billion), Japan (SKK 9.8 billion), Germany (SKK 4.1 billion) and Malaysia (SKK 2.3 billion).

The Slovak Republic had the highest active balance with United Kingdom (SKK 24.9 billion), France (SKK 21.4 billion), Austria (SKK 20.6 billion), Poland (SKK 19.8 billion), Italy (SKK 16.5 billion), the Netherlands (SKK 14.4 billion), Finland (SKK 11.9 billion), the Czech Republic (SKK 10.7 billion) and Hungary (SKK 9.5 billion).

Goods in the amount of SKK 776 billion (EUR 24.1 billion) were exported from the Slovak Republic. Compared to the corresponding period in 2007, the total export was up 13.4 %.

In terms of goods, the total export of television equipment rose at most SKK 17.2 billion, private cars and other motor vehicles mostly for transporting passengers SKK 9.8 billion, petroleum oils and oils from bitumen mineral, other than crude SKK 7 billion and bodies (coachwork) for motor vehicles SKK 4.6 billion.

The total export within the most significant trade partners increased: Germany 7.9%, the Czech Republic 18.3%, France 22.7%, Poland 17.8 %, Hungary 16.6%, Austria 11%, United Kingdom 9.2% and the Russian Federation 101.1%. The total export to Italy declined 3.1%, the Netherlands 3.3% and Spain 18%.

The total export to the EU countries increased by 11.1% (it represented 85.6% of the total export of the SR) and to the OECD countries by 10.5% (it represented 86.9% of the total export of the SR) in terms of the main economic groupings.

Goods in the amount of SKK 780.1 billion (EUR 24.2 billion) were imported to the Slovak Republic; there was 13.6% year-on-year increase.

In terms of goods, the total import of petroleum oils and oils from crude bitumen mineral SKK 12.6 billion.

The total import within the most significant trade partners increased: Germany 17.6%, the Russian Federation 50.9%, the Czech Republic 8.9%, China 27.4%, the Republic of Korea 24.6%, Hungary 2.9%, France 13%, Poland 0.6% and Austria 0.7%. The total import from Italy declined 0.9%.

The total import from the EU countries rose by 8.9% (it represented 67.6% of the total import) and from the OECD countries by 9.7% (it represented 69.2% of the total import of the SR) in terms of the main economic groupings.
