Training course on knitting for creating skilled manpower

The month long training course on sweater knitting and linking machine operating (SKLMO) for trainees of the 12th batch concluded on September 16 at the youth training centre (YTC).
The main objective of this educative training was to create skilled and trained manpower to provide them with jobs in garment industries so that they could be self-reliant.
Trainees were later distributed with certificates at the function and to as many as 88 youths including 22 young girls of Rangpur and Gaibandha districts who took part in the training.
Earlier, a total of 940 unemployed youth including women from northern districts of, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha were imparted training on SKLMO in 11 batches.
The training course was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Army, Directorate of Youth Development (DYD) and District Administration and was financially aided by the Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters' Association (BGMEA) and the BGMEA Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT).
