Polypropylene fibre production drops over previous year

According to the data provided by the China National Textile Association, production of polypropylene fiber amounted to 2,035 tons in July 2008, a marginal increase of 1.14 percent from June, but dropping by 2.07 percent on a year on year basis.
July sales were 1,945 tons, up 4.46 percent from June but down by 3.95 percent compared to the previous year.
Inventories in the month were recorded at 1,959 tons, a slight increase of 4.82 percent from the previous month, registering a year on year increase of 396 tons or 25.34 percent.
In July 2008, sales of polypropylene fiber were concentrated mainly in Jiangsu, Beijing, Zhejiang, Gansu, and Shanghai while inflows of polypropylene fiber in Tianjin, Shanxi, Heilongjiang and Henan were zero.
