P&G Beauty to sponsor Montreal Fashion Week

On October 13 rd, the Bonsecours Market will host the launch of the 15th edition of Montreal Fashion Week (MFW). Held for the seventh time in collaboration with P&G Beauty, this is a fashion event of international scope presenting premiere showings of new collections.

More than 100 companies from Canada and France will be taking part in the various activities, revealing 2009 spring-summer trends to the approximately 15,000 buyers and journalists expected to attend.

Several national launches will be presented in Montreal for the first time. The organizers of Montreal Fashion Week are proud to welcome renowned designers such as Denis Gagnon, Evan Bidell and Lucian Matis, known for their great creative talent.

We also note the return of Andy Thê-Anh, not to mention such not-to-be-missed participants as Muse by Christian Chenail, Marie Saint Pierre, and ENVERS by Yves Jean Lacasse, along with a number of up-and-coming designers such as Travis Taddeo.

For three days, members of the press and buyers will be treated to the 2009 spring-summer collections of Myco Anna, BALBEC Collection by K.Maro, Dinh Bá Design, Aqua Di Lara, Caroline Néron Jewellery, Samuel Dong, Frank Lyman, Stone Rose, Simon Chang, HELMER, Éliane by Eliane Guindon, Katrin Leblond, Soïa & Kyo, Denis Gagnon, Anne-Marie Chagnon and Sans Soucie.

Moreover, in the return of an event open to the general public, the Laboratoire Créatif will present 25 Quebec designers for the benefit of the Look Good Feel Better program.

MFW will also be welcoming, for a second edition, French designers in an event held in collaboration with the WHO'S NEXT fashion trade show, the Office Franco-Québécois pour la Jeunesse (OFQJ - Franco-Quebec Youth Bureau) and Ubifrance (French agency for the international development of companies).

Presenting their creations within the Showroom facet of MFW, these French designers are: by Charlotte, Charlie Joe, Gunhild, Jerome l'Huillier, Naco- Paris, Old River, Raag, ''Rivières de lune'' Edween Pearson, Suzie Winkle and Tessa Delpeche.

“We are proud to pursue the international development facet of MFW. Our partnership with WHO'S NEXT, a major Paris happening, is an example of what we have done to accentuate Montreal's potential,” notes Jean-François Daviau, copresident of Sensation Mode and producer of the event.

“It will make it possible to discover close to 100 designers at the Showroom, clearly illustrating the success of MFW.”

Several buyers confirmed:
MFW will be attended by a large number of buyers from Japan, the US (Chicago, Boston, New York), and Europe (France, Great Britain).

A delegation from Toronto will also be in Montreal to discover some of the top talents in the country. Buyers from United Arrow (Japan), Holt Renfrew and The Bay, among others, are expected.

Le Showroom:
Le Showroom is back. For three days designers and design manufacturers will have the opportunity of conducting business exchanges and forging ties in an ideal environment. For this edition, the Showroom will welcome close to 100 exhibitors from North America and Europe.
