On Monday, October 20, PTA, MEG prices continued its downward trend. Semi-dull and bright polyester chip prices sharply fell; CDP chip and PET bottle chip prices also went lower.
Acrylic staple fiber 1.5D × 38mm, acrylic top 3D × 102mm prices consolidated; CPL price temporarily stable, 6 chip price set back.
Market performance of polyester filament continued to look pale; buying demand from down stream manufacturers held a strong wait-and-see psychology. Buyers were hoping that prices would decline further. Influenced by dumping of low-price of polyester filament, demand from spinning enterprises also adjusted.
Polyester chip prices in raw material market collapsed; the entire polyester filament market was covered with thick wait-and-see atmosphere; the majority believed that the market outlook of polyester filament would keep declining.
All cotton yarn products acquired stability; individual species moved slightly lower, where as other items looked dull.
Among blended yarn products, viscose-polyester yarn remained stable. There was a little change in small trade volume; individual specifications of polyester-cotton yarn 80/20 fell.
Trade volumes of rayon yarn was weak; some rayon yarn prices declined in very small trade volume.
Polyester yarn market remained inactive; individual species moved lower; market price of polyester staple fiber went down, with average prices stood at 9100 yuan per ton. Viscose staple fiber prices dropped further; the latest price focus was at 15,900 yuan per ton.
Market outlook for yarns with polyester content is expected to move lower further.
