Vietnam aims to boost trade relations through IITF

The 28th India International Trade Fair (IITF), that opened on November 14 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, is a veritable gateway for brand building, where captains of trade and industry, foreign emissaries, decision makers, business persons, entrepreneurs, overseas business delegations, thinkers congregate to present their capabilities in front of the world.

This year, nine Vietnamese companies are showcasing various handicraft and textile products.

Mr Vu Quang Diem Vietnamese ambassador to India suggested this is the way to promote Vietnamese products in India, which in turn will enhance the country's exports and boost economic relations.

A two-week seminar on biotechnology was also organized by the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) here. Scientists from ICGEB and other countries including Vietnam, Italy, Romania, Bangladesh, Brazil, Costa Rica and Egypt discussed issues relating to gene alteration technology.

More than 7,000 companies from 38 countries, including China, Japan, Russia, South Africa and Turkey, participated in the Trade Fair, which will run till November 27.
