AWI Board of Directors and new Chairman elected

Mr Laurence Modiano, Dr Meredith Sheil, Mr George Falkiner and Mr David Webster have been elected to the Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) Board of Directors.
Mr Brian van Rooyen was reelected.
Immediately after the declaration of the poll the new board convened and elected Mr Wal Merriman as AWI's new Chairman of Directors and Mr Roger Fletcher as Deputy Chairman.
The result of the election was announced today, the 19th of November 2008, at the company's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Perth, Western Australia.
Ten candidates nominated for the five positions on the AWI Board, Dr Meredith Sheil, Mr Laurence Modiano, Mr George Falkiner, Mr Brian van Rooyen, Dr John Keniry, Dr Chris Abell, Mr Ken Boundy and Ms Robyn Clubb.
Mr Modiano received 199,293 votes in favour of his election to the Board, Dr Sheil received 189,892 votes in favour of her election, Mr Brian van Rooyen received 185,006 votes in favour of his reelection, Mr David Webster received 179,587 votes in favour of his election, and Mr George Falkiner received 174,811 in favour of his election to the board.
The unsuccessful candidates were Mr Will Roberts 169,717, Dr John Keniry 162,519, Ms Robyn Clubb 158,664, Mr Ken Boundy 157,957 and Dr Chris Abell with 155,050 votes.
Mr Brian van Rooyen was reelected.
