Week of utter fabulousness at L'Oreal Fashion Week

A week of utter Fabulousness wrapped in Toronto October 25th 2008 after 40 shows from 70 designers to an audience of over 20,000 attendees. The L'Oreal Fashion Week Spring 2009 Collections were bigger and more beautiful than ever. Held once again in the heart of downtown Toronto; 40,000 square foot tents were erected in Nathan Phillips Square.

Newly appointed CEO and President of The Bay, Bonnie Brooks and FDCC President Robin Kay welcomed guests to the Studio – a more intimate second runway tent space at the Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Monday October 20th to stylish swarms of fashion and news media.

October 22nd Carlie Wong featured an electronically charged show infusing phone tech and fashion fabulous; gorgeous flowing gowns accented with the latest mobile technology dangling from models wrists; other pieces were integrated into the ensemble as a necklace.

This following the LG Electronics Canada launch of three fabulous new cell phones at a press conference held by Andrew Barrett, Vice President of Marketing and FDCC President Robin Kay with Mr. William Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Canada in attendance.

The explosive closing night gala, LG Fashion Fusion, brought Maroon 5 to the TDOT for an evening of rock' n 'roll' n' runway! Opening with a global design school presentation hosted by celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch and featuring fashions hailing from Mexico, the UK, South Africa and Canada.

The evening came to a close with designs by Agent Provocateur, Canadian greats Wayne Clark, Mikhael Kale, Greta Constantine. Lincoln showed off their fashion sense with the Lincoln Style Lounge while activating a nightly text-to-win contest.

Attendees were given a specific number to text giving them the opportunity to win an outfit from either Pink Tartan, David Dixon, Andy The-Anh, or Renata Morales. Winners were announced post show by the participating designer from inside the featured Lincoln car using the revolutionary SYNC technology!

Spanish retailer MANGO closed opening night with Monica Cruz taking front row. MANGO also outfitted the week's 'Fashion Police' with bright red coats and satin dresses to usher in attendees and ensure everything was Fabulous throughout the week.

The Holt Renfrew Cocktail thrown on October 20th had Canada's 'it list' dressed in their best with international pop culture guru Tyler Brulé presented by Joe Fresh as guest speaker for the exclusive mingle. Barbara Atkin, Holt Renfrew Vice President of Fashion Direction welcomed guests along with Robin Kay.

An audience of media VIP's including Canadian design genius Joe Mimran, Canadian Idol's Jake Gold, actress Tara Spencer-Nairn, singer Kreesha Turner, Allen Chan from Designer Guys, recording artist Fefe Dobson, Marcel Jones from Degrassi, actor/model Sam Sarpong and many more graced the show.

On October 21st the Four Seasons of Toronto along with the FDCC invited Toronto's fashion elite to a brunch and private viewing of renowned stylist Phillip Bloch's cashmere line for Emma & Posh. Featuring Barclay Jewelry by Lucy Kilislian, the exclusive brunch was attended by tastemakers, top tier media and the socialite set hosted by Amoryn Engel.
