T&C exports from Jiangsu port down since last 3 months

Textile and garment exports from Jiangsu ports touched US $1.88 billion from January to October, representing a growth of 20.9 percent over the same period last year, according to Nanjing Customs statistics.
Exports are in a declining mode since the last three months and exports are dropping month by month since August. Shipments from the industry could reach only $180 million in the month of October, up 12.9 percent year-on-year, but down 10.4 percent from the previous month.
Textile and garment exports of general trade from Jiangsu ports registered $1.13 billion from January to October, an increase of 21.4 percent year on year and accounted for 60.2 percent of the total sector shipments while exports from the processing trade saw it reach $720 million in the same period, an increase of 21 percent year on year and accounting for 38.3 percent of industry exports.
Exports were mainly to the European Union, the United States and Japan. In the first ten months of the year, exports from the sector to the European Union, the United States and Japan fetched US $370 million, $320 million and $310 million respectively and representing an increase of 17.4 percent, 5.3 percent and 7.1 percent respectively. The three markets together accounted for 53.2 percent of the total textile and garment exports via Jiangsu ports.
From January to October, textile and garment exports by foreign-funded enterprises recorded US $990 million, an increase of 23.1 percent and accounting for 52.7 percent of total textile and garment exports, while shipments by state-owned and private enterprises achieved US $470 million and US $380 million, representing an increase of 15.3 percent and 25.3 percent, respectively from the port.
