Environmentally friendly and sustainability are two of the most researched subjects in current times. As people grow environmentally more and more conscious, companies will be compelled to find innovative products to satisfy the aspirations of these consumers.
Textile Science and Technology Forum 2008 (TIFE 2008), organized by Technical office of Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs Department and conducted by Taiwan Textile Institute, which successfully concluded, was conducted on those lines.
The main motto behind the fair was to develop and innovate energy saving and environmental protection products and to manufacture eco-friendly textiles with cleaner production technology. The country had also announced recently three NT 100 billion output value growth plans in functional textiles, industrial textiles and fashion design.
The European Union has also come out with different regulations including the REACH policy which bans imports among other things, products with high level of toxic dyes and chemicals.
The best thing to happen to the Taiwan Textile Institute is that, it has managed to get the verification testing agreement from the Rhine Group (TUV), which will prove very helpful to Taiwanese industries.
Eco-friendly and eco-protection products will be the hallmark to seize the global markets and the Taiwanese textile industry has taken a lead with the successful completion of the fair and in the institute getting the authority to certify TUV standards.
A number of regulations governing import of goods are being put up by a lot of countries, but as long as the domestic industries establish their credentials by adhering to these regulations, there will be no looking back for them
