NÜWA Textiles releases NüWash Fabric

Dec '08
Nüwa Textiles announced, their latest fabric innovation, NüWash, a proprietary, hybrid fiber design that offers a highly unique finish on performance ballistics nylon.

This nylon textile development is offered in a striking stonewashed effect (denim, heather, straw mat or tatami also speak to the style of the finish) is achieved by a careful intermixing of fiber that reacts differently to the dyestuffs. This newly developed technique has three to four distinct colors at play.

Color depth and richness not achieved previously in ballistic performance nylon is one effect. Developed in heavier weights, the fabric is now available in a full range of 400, 840 and 1680 denier ballistic weaves.

Nüwa engineered this hybrid dying process using its protocol of more sustainable manufacturing practices. The process is applied using a 95% nylon and 5% synthetic blend. The result of this unique finish on 'performance' ballistic nylon delivers an extremely durable fabric with endless design options for progressive product manufacturers.

Larry Harrison, Vice-President of Business Development for Nüwa, says “Our company employs a staff of 40 in the textile research and development department. NüWash is another example of how our talented engineers are able to develop breakthroughs ahead of competitors.”

Nüwa Textiles, one of the largest weavers in the world, is setting new standards for cleaner textile production. Nüwa utilizes custom designed machinery to reduce water and factory energy usage, while delivering new eco-friendly fabrics to high-end specialty manufacturers worldwide. The company is the first and only source for this level of environmental action in textile manufacturing.

NüWash fabric can be utilized anywhere innovative and durable textiles are demanded in product design. This nylon blend is suitable for luggage, backpacks, shoes, river gear, sailing equipment or other heavy-duty applications where performance is requisite.

NüWash is competitively priced in the available deniers and a bargain in terms of its unique proprietary styling and performance aspects. This new fabric is the clear choice for superior performance, green ideology and clean processing. NüWash brings fresh, innovative design construction to the market.

Nüwa Textiles is the next step in the evolution of the textile industry—a choice for specialty manufacturers that want a direct source to mills offering environmentally friendly manufacturing protocols. Nüwa Textiles is the first of its kind: delivering cleaner polyester and nylon through advanced technology and offering a complete range of recycled polyester. Nüwa Textiles offers: A dedicated textile engineering team to ensure speedy fabric development and solutions to a customer's specific needs.
