Index for textiles group remains unchanged

The W.P.I. Index based rate of inflation for the week ending 29.11.2008 has been provisionally estimated at 8.00 % as against the previous week's level of 8.40%.
The textiles group has an overall weight of 9.8% in the WPI Index and hence it is an important group in measuring inflation.
The index for 'Textiles' group remained unchanged to 141.7 (Provisional)
The annual inflation in respect of the textile group of items was 8.00% as compared to 8.40% for all commodities for the week ending 29.11.2008. The weekly inflation of the textile group declined for the week ending 29.11.08 as compared to marginal decline by 0.04% in all commodities.
