Cotton import prices slump slightly

According to Ministry of Industry and Trade statistic, average import price of cotton during the week from November 26 to December 5 stood from US $980 to $1,745 per ton showing a slight decline at most of the markets.
The price quoted from the US stood at $1,646 per ton, depicting a downfall by 1.8 percent compared to previous week and 1.9 percent over early week of August this year.
Price from Singapore stood at $1,520 per ton, slip by 0.7 and 9.5 percent respectively over last week and first week of August.
It is noteworthy that the price of cotton imported from Brazil dropped significantly by 9 percent at $1,410 per ton in comparison to previous week.
The prices at other supplying countries include Germany was quoted at $1,570 per ton, UK at $1,655 per ton, France for $1,600 per ton, Switzerland for $1,700 per ton and South Africa for $1,745 per ton.
