Lakshmi Mills stops production at Coimbatore unit

Lakshmi Mills Company Ltd has informed that in view of the recessionary trend in the market and considering the condition of the machinery in the Coimbatore Unit, a Voluntary Retirement Scheme has been given effect to and hence the Coimbatore Unit is not in production from December 18, 2008. The installed capacity of this unit is 31968 Spindles & 114 Looms.
The Palladam Unit has an installed capacity of 56112 Spindles of which 46608 spindles are fully modernized and are running on cotton and Modal. The Kovilpatti Unit's total installed spindlage of 62928 are running on polyester cotton.
Lakshmi Mills Company, established in 1910, is a manufacturer of a wide range of yarn, fabrics and garments for both the domestic and export markets.
