'ATC–10' textile fibre symposium to be held from September 7

The Society of Fiber Science and Technology, Japan, the Textile Machinery Society of Japan and Japan Research Association for Textile End-Uses is hosting the “ATC-10” symposium from September 7-9, 2009.The venue for the seminar to be held on September 7, is Ueda Tokyu Inn and for those to be held on September 8 and 9, it is the premises of the Faculty of Textile Science and Technology, Shinshu University.
The seminar also is ably supported by the Faculty of Textile Science and Technology, Shinshu University and the Global COE Project for “International Center of Excellence on Fiber Engineering” and Collaborative Innovation Center of Nanotech Fiber (nanoFIC). The organizers have informed that the official language of all discussion will be the English language.
There will be general sessions on Fibers and Polymer Materials, Textile Processing and Properties, Chemical Treatments (including Dyeing and Finishing), Technical Textiles, Smart Fibers and Materials, Green Materials and Technology, Fashion and Clothing Science, and Managing and Marketing.
The first ATC symposium which is held bi-annually was first held in India in 1991, followed by Korea in 1993, Hong Kong 1995, Taiwan 1997, Japan 1999, once again in Hong Kong in 2001, Iran 2003, India again in 2005, Taiwan also again hosted it in 2007 and now Japan is re-hosting the event in 2009.
ATC-10 will provide a valuable opportunity to work towards a new era of fibre and textile in Asia, which is aptly, termed “Asian Textile Renaissance”. ATC-10 will be a barometer to forecast the textile weather of the future and also provide a platform to gather and discuss mutual interests.
