'Labyrinth of Life' is the concept of 15th EVTEKS Fair

With a production share of 11%, the home textiles sector meets at EVTEKS- 15th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition. Organized by Istanbul Trade Fairs and with the support of TETSIAD (Turkey Home Textiles Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association) the fair hosts visitors and exhibitors from over 20 countries. The fair, to be organized on May 20-24, paves the way for new business opportunities for investors in search of new markets. The concept of this year's exhibition is set as “Labyrinth of Life”

EVTEKS- 15th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition, among the largest in its sector all around the world and the largest exhibition in all sectors in Turkey, provides new business opportunities for sector representatives and for investors. With over 500 brands including Lenzing, Comersan, Microfibres, Tanriverdi, Brillant, Zorlu, Ozdilek, Soley and Pierre Cardin, this gigantic organization shares the production and fashion power of Turkey with the actors of the sector.

The exhibitor companies at EVTEKS are Spain, Italy, India, Belgium, The Netherlands, Canada, Austria, Egypt, The UK, Lebanon, Moldavia, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iran.

10% increase in international visitor numbers
EVTEKS 2009, organized at Istanbul CNR Expo, is expected to host around 100.000 visitors and with an increase of 10%, the number of international visitors is expected to rise from 18.000 to 20.000. A high interest from Belgium, Greece, Germany, Italy, Spain, The UK, The Netherlands, France, Poland, The USA, Egypt, Russia, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Iran and Jordan is also expected to the fair.

The Hosted Buyer Programme 2009 organized by the Under secretariat for Foreign Trade will be attended by Australia, The USA, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, India, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and Venezuela. Company and association representatives, chain store representatives from mentioned countries will attend the exhibition on May 20-23.

2010 home textiles trends
2010 home textiles trends will be showcased at the “Trend Forum” organized by Uludag Exporters Association (UIB) and the “Young Designers Trend Forum” will reflect a different perspective to home textiles. Canan Sonmez Canik, Cenk Mommarje, Defne Koz, Fulvio Alvisi, Gunner Frank, Inkrit Berbee and Milou Ket are among the speakers of this year's programme. 6 trend themes were determined within the concept of
“Labyrinth of Life” at Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition and each theme has been visualized as a spirit with different fabrics and colors. Emotion, Tradition, Evolution, Erosion, Abstraction, and Revolution spirits are symbolized by Innocence, History, Miracle, Wisdom, Dreams and Victory, respectively.

14th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition hosted a total number of 81.000 visitors including 18.000 international visitors. The most significant development in last year's exhibition was the shift from Middle East to Turkey. European and American buyers were reported to say that taking the quality and workmanship into consideration they turned their faces once again to Turkey.
