TTRI to cooperate with China on textiles & fibre development

Recently a team from the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) and the Technical Textiles Association together visited important and well-known mainland textile research companies and institutes in Beijing, Nanjing and Shanghai.
As a reciprocator measure, well-known experts and scholars from China will be invited to visit Taipei in late August. They will hold technology and co-operation exchanges on cross-strait textile & fibre industry production and integration of industrial resources in order to expand and deepen cooperation between both sides.
Chairman of Taiwan Textile Industry Research Institute, Wang Yakang, said, under the threat of the global financial tsunami, textile manufacturers across both countries are facing significant business challenges and the industry has to focus, as to, how to break through market difficulties and trading patterns.
There are over 2,000 Taiwan-funded textile and apparel manufacturers in East China with an investment of more than US $6.8 billion. All were of the opinion that, it would inject new energy in the industry by using the technological edge of both the countries.
Taiwan Textile Industry Research Institute plans to hold large-scale industry conferences for cross-strait textile and fibre enterprises with help from relevant units, which will cover technology development, industrial development, promotion of two-way cooperation and technology, market test and exchange mechanism.
