China's self-developed textile industry colour standard - CNCS colour system will be implemented within the textile industry from September 1. This is the establishment of China's first colour system and has filled a long standing gap with reference to standards of colour reference system.

The CNCS colour system has been developed after years of research by the China Textile Information Center and has been established as a national standard. It has also been accepted by Ministry of Science and Technology and at the same time is considered a colour system with advanced international standards.

CNCS colour system is a scientific colour system based on vision and other chromatic aberration theories and is consistent with colour vision habits of the Chinese people. Each colour has a unique seven-colour code.

China is a large textile and apparel country, but it has never had its own colour standards and a lack of unified colour language has caused communication barriers, which translates in to a serious impediment for marketing of textile products and in the process affects the market competitiveness of enterprises.
