Naphtha cracker of Sinopec undergoes force majeure

According to a release from Sinopec, the petrochemical major based in China, it has taken under maintenance its naphtha cracker unit, located in Qilu.

This petrochemical plant which has a capacity to produce 800,000 tons of ethylene per year will be shut down for a period of month, which began from April 15.

According to the company, this overhauling of the full naphtha cracker is being taken after a period of 54 months and is basically to remove all impediments to regular production.
