Govt plans cottage and handicraft villages

The government is planning to set up cottage and handicraft villages all over the country. Along with this it will also set up gift houses in all the 75 districts of the country, informed Minister for Industry, Asta Laxmi Shakya.

The Minister was addressing the inaugural ceremony of 20th National Industrial Exhibition and Excellent Entrepreneurship Award Program and said, “Cottage and handicraft villages will prove to be helpful for the promotion of micro, cottage and small industries”.

“Various provisions have been drawn out to develop entrepreneurship among youth and women under the new industrial policy and in the industrial estates the government has removed load-shedding, for which the Ministry of Industry has taken initiative, the minster added by saying.
