The Ministry of Commerce has initiated an anti-dumping investigation in to imports of Nylon-6 chip products from the US, EU, Taiwan and Russia. It will investigate the impact of the imported Nylon-6 on the domestic producers of the textile product.

Normally under World Trade Organisation (WTO) rules an investigation on dumping charges needs to be completed within a period of one year and can subsequently increase that period by six more months, if needed.

Nylon-6 chips are majorly imported from Taiwan (53.73%), US (12.37%) and Germany (7.21%) and from other countries. In 2004, China had implemented anti-dumping measures on imports from Taiwan on the same product, but had withdrawn it in 2005.
