Everest Textile, a company that always puts " innovation" and "environmental protection" first, announces that it will be shortly the first company in Asia to receive bluesign international textile environmental protection certification for coating & lamination products.

This illustrates the success of Everest's continuing efforts to develop green products, reduce energy use and waste and pay close attention to environmental and personnel safety since the company officially became a bluesign partner in May of 2008. This honor is further affirmation of Everest's unshakeable belief in and insistence on achieving sustainable management.

The internationally respected environmental protection bluesign standard is an across-the-board management system for textile industry environment, health and safety. In the examination process Everest's coating and lamination products and processes were subject to product safety, environmental safety and personnel safety tests.

As for environmental hygiene, Everest has invested in various equipment and devices to improve the work environment and worker safety, for example installing gas gather equipment, soft curtains or exhausts in the laminating machine and stirring areas where solvent evaporates or odors are emitted, helping to isolate the solvents from the outside air. Test results for solvent content in the work environment showed that DMF (Dimethyl Formamide) TOL (Toluene) and MEK(methyl ethyl ketone) were all within the legal limit, ensuring the health and safety of personnel. In addition, Everest has also established the DMF circulation system.

This process does not just allow DMF solvent to be recycled and reused, making maximum use of resources, it also suitably deals with the waste emission problem and ensures the environment is not polluted. The system won high praise from bluesign examiners.

With regards to Everest to become the first textile company in Asia with bluesign certified coating & lamination products, Mr. Roger Yeh, President of Everest, said excitedly: "This proves Everest's determination and efficiency in the pursuit of innovation and environmental protection. We do what we say we will immediately and this is the main reason we are the first-choice benchmark company for many customers.” At present Everest has 22 product lines and 935 products have been awarded the bluesign standard.

Everest's Thailand and Shanghai plants are currently undergoing bluesign screenings. In the future, Everest will commit more resources to environmental protection engineering and participation in environmental protection activities with the aim of, while fulfilling corporate social responsibility, also providing clients and consumers with high value products and services.
