No time-table yet for disposal of state cotton reserves

In recent days there are rumors about the government beginning sales of cotton reserves in the market, but the China Cotton Association has received confirmation from relevant departments that the country has not established timetable for sales of state cotton reserves.

As to the questions of how much and how to sell, the relevant departments before taking the final decision, will first make careful research and then take decision in accordance to market resources available, market demand from textile enterprises and at the same time ensuring market stability.

An official from the China Cotton Association says that the fundamental aim of state's macro regulation is to protect the interests of farmers and ensure cotton demand of textile enterprises under the premise of stabilizing the market and these macro-control measures are getting more mature.

At the same time, in order to ensure the stability of cotton market, relevant departments have prepared appropriate plans. The state has prepared flexible regulations and control measures to deal with cotton price changes, either in case of prices falling or rising or also with regards to supply position.
