HP Pelzer acquires CarMex textile plant

Carcoustics Belgium N.V. (Carcoustics) has sold its Mexican Textile Plant (CarMex) to HP Pelzer Holding GmbH (HP Pelzer). CarMex is a leading producer in Mexico for automotive textile components including non-woven carpets and wheelhouse liners. Its operations are located in Los Reyes Acozac.

The transaction allows Carcoustics and HP Pelzer to focus further on their individual strategies. Carcoustics opened a new plant in 2008 in Queretaro, Mexico. This is focused on Carcoustics future technologies and will continue to operate as an integrated partner plant within the Carcoustics Group. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed from both parties.

Carcoustics is an innovative German based supplier and engineering partner and provides solutions for the industry based on their specialized manufacturing technologies and ultralight materials. After the sale of its Mexican textile division, Carcoustics employs 1.600 people and operates 11 plants in 9 countries.

Headquartered in Witten, is a leading worldwide supplier of automotive parts with a focus on automotive acoustics and interior trim. The most important automakers around the world are among its clients. The company operates 37 production sites and five development locations in 14 countries. It employs 4,500 people, including 700 in Germany. In 2008, HP Pelzer Group had sales of about 576 million euros.
