HTE to present innovative technology at Sustainable Solutions Summit, HK

Huntsman Textile Effects (HTE) will present innovative technologies focused on sustainability in textile processing at the upcoming Sustainable Solutions Summit (May 19-20) in Hong Kong sponsored by Cotton Incorporated and Cotton Council International.
Sustainability is one of the core philosophies which drives the innovation process at Huntsman. We achieve this by not only developing innovative products that have a lower environmental impact, but also by finding smart processes that support our customers and the environment through substantially reducing and optimizing the use of natural resources. Huntsman Textile Effects' goal is to use our competence and application know-how to help our customers drive down their process costs and optimize their product quality.
Living Sustainability in Action: Gentle Power Bleach, a novel bleaching system with breakthrough enzyme innovation, exemplifies Huntsman's commitment to sustainability. This innovative new technology for pretreatment of textiles, particularly cottons, has arisen out of collaboration between Huntsman and Genencor.
This outstanding new system allows low temperature bleaching of textiles at a neutral pH range and excels in its ability to process all fibers in a more sustainable way whilst delivering textile goods with an enhanced quality. Most of all, it adheres to our rigid standards of sustainability in that it leads to considerable savings in energy, water and waste water treatment.
Lode Vermeersch, Head of Project Management Pre-Treatment will present the attendees with a deeper insight into the sustainable advantages of wet processing with Gentle Power Bleach. Additionally, Martin Szeto, Global Business Development Director will highlight sustainability and the issues associated with it in the textile industry and how best available technology can significantly contribute to sustainability.
