interzum award winners announced

Every two years, the international supplier industry comes together at interzum in Cologne. A special event is being celebrated in 2009: 50 years of interzum. The anniversary emphasises the significance of the trade fair as a trendsetter and driver of innovation for industry, handcrafts and commerce. interzum was and is the stage for the presentation of new products. This is where ideas become innovations.

With the “interzum award: intelligent material & design”,on 13.05. – 16.05.2009, Koelnmesse in cooperation with red dot projects is carrying this idea further into the future. In 2009, innovative companies whose products set new industry standards will be recognised for the fifth time. The jury received 209 entries from 115 companies. Both figures exceed those of the competition carried out two years ago by nearly 40 percent. In 2007, 80 companies with 151 innovations participated. A total of 42 awards are being given out, including 7 in the highest class “best of the best”.

The international jury was made up of Martin Bergmann, EOOS Design GmbH, Michael Lanz, designaffairs GmbH, Yasmine Mahmoudieh, mahmoudieh design, Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Martin Stosch, University of applied science Lippe and Höxter, and Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, initator of red dot design award and Senator of International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid).
