'New textile policy will rejuvenate sector' – Mr Gilani, PM

At a meeting convened to formulate the new textile policy, the Prime Minister, Mr Gilani was full of appreciation for the initiatives recommended in the new textile policy and constituted a committee to assess the policy framework before its final approval.
The new textile policy envisages an export turnover of US $25 billion and in the process creates 2.9 million new jobs in the next few years, by addressing issues affecting one of the most promising sectors of Pakistan.
Mr Gilani commenting further on the new textile policy said that, this new policy will help in rejuvenating the vital sector. The meeting also looked at enlarging the roles of women in the textile sector along with reviewing strategies.
